Hillcrest Elementary School teachers flip burgers instead of pages!
Local teachers serve students and families at McTeacher’s Night to raise money for the Elementary School.
Elgin | Hillcrest Elementary School students gave their teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support local education and the school.
Assistant Principal Brian Brennan along with several wonderful Hillcrest teachers and staff members volunteered on Thursday, December 5, at the Bear Family McDonald’s in Elgin located at 1480 Larkin Ave., where they served students and their families in a fundraising event for their school.
During this event teachers and school staff members worked the Drive-Thru window, called out orders, made Ice Cream treat and sold pies for donations
The proceeds from the sale of 156 pies went directly to benefit the school.
David Bear, Owner/Operator of the Elgin McDonald’s on Larkin, was delighted to participate in this worthy cause for education and the community.
“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Bear said.
“We are proud to serve the families of the Elgin community through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”
“The teachers and families who supported this event are the fabric that strengthens our community,” Bear said.
