Morton Grove| Melzer Elementary School students gave teachers and administrators an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the Melzer Elementary Parent Teacher Organization.

Principal Jen Pacheco, Assistant Principal Barb Golik, teachers, and support staff from MelzerElementary School volunteered behind the counter on Thursday, April 25th, at the Morton Grove McDonald’s located on Dempster Ave., where they served students and their families in their first McTeacher’s Night.
Teachers Shannon Boudreau, Jill Baxter, Aaron Polonsky and Susan Sweeney sang and danced around the restaurant encouraging students to purchase a delicious apple pie while teachers tended the front counter, served ice cream and presented delicious food at the drive-thru.
The proceeds from the 200 apple pies sold will be used to help support Author visits, International Night, recess equipment and books for the classrooms. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly to the Melzer PTO.
“Our Melzer students and staff had so much fun coming together to support the school!  TheMelzer teachers loved trying all of the behind the counter jobs, greeting families and making ice cream cones.  We can’t wait to have another McTeacher’s Night next fall!”
David Bear, OwnerOperator of the Morton Grove McDonald’s and the Bear family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
