Century Oaks Teachers Serve Up an Evening of Fun at McDonald’s
Local teachers serve students and families at McTeacher’s Night to raise money for Century Oaks Elementary.
Elgin| Century Oaks students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the School’s McTeacher’s Night.
Teachers from Century oaks volunteered behind the counter on Tuesday, April 16th, at the McDonald’s located on N. McLean Blvd. The teachers worked hard to serve students and their families in a fundraiser for the school.
Principal Erickson and Teacher Tabares wore the pie box costume. While several other teachers helped to sell the pies alongside them during this two-hour event.
The proceeds from the sale of 198 Pies went directly to benefit Century Oaks Elementary. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were also donated directly to the school.
David Bear, Owner-Operator of the Elgin McDonald’s, was delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Bear said.
“We have been proud to serve the families of the Elgin community since 1967,” Bear continued. “In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”
Bear donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event.
“Principal Erickson and all the teachers who rolled up their sleeves in support of this event are the fabrics that strengthen our community,” Bear said.
