Elgin| St. Joseph School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the school.

Teachers from St. Joseph volunteered behind the counter on Tuesday, March 5th, at the Elgin McDonald’s, located at 1480 Larkin Ave, where they served students and their families in a fundraising event.

Jill Smith, a teacher at St. Joseph School tended the apple pie box during the night alonside Mary Ann Smith who sold the pies for donations.

Smith, a teacher at St. Joseph, did an outstanding job multiplying sales when selling pies to customers throughout the night.  The proceeds from the pie sales went directly to benefit the school.  Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly to the school as well.

David Bear, Owner Operator of the Elgin McDonald’s, and the Bear Family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.

“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Bear said.
