South Elgin | Corron Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the School’s PTO.

Teachers from St. Charles School District 303 volunteered behind the counter on Thursday, February 21st at the South Elgin McDonald’s located on Redington Road. The teachers worked hard to serve students and their families in a fundraiser for Corron.

New Corron Principal Mrs. Chris Balaskovits, tended the apple pie box during the night. While several staff and students sold 240 pies.

The proceeds from the sale of 240 pies went directly to Corron Elementary. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly to the school as well.

To make this event even more memorable Gus T. Bull of the Windy City Bulls stopped in to dance and take pictures with the kids. Gus T. Bull also gave away several t-shirts and some free game tickets. The kids especially loved it when he sprayed them with silly string upon his exit!

David Bear, Owner- Operator of the South Elgin McDonald’s, was delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.

“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Bear said.

“We are proud to serve the families of the Corron community through the McTeacher’s Night event,” Bear continued. “In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”

Bear donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher’s Night, David Bear has his sights on partnering with other schools in the South Elgin area.

“Principal Balaskovits and all the teachers who rolled up their sleeves in support of this event are the fabrics that strengthen our community,” Bear said.
