Arlington Heights | Poe Elementary School students gave teachers and administrators an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the Poe PTO.
Teachers, support staff and Principal Christy Campbell from Poe School volunteered behind the counter on Thursday, February 21st, at the Arlington Heights McDonald’s located on Dundee Road, where they served students and their families in a fundraiser.
Christy Campell, Principal, Poe School, and ESL teacher Ellina Muzikant danced around the restaurant encouraging students to purchase a delicious apple pie while teachers tended the front counter, served ice cream and presented delicious food at the drive-thru.
The proceeds from the 150+ apple pies sold will be used to help support field trips, sound system, educational gifts and classroom supplies. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly to the Poe School PTO.
The parents, students and customers were treated to a beautiful concert from the Poe Chorus.  Under the direction of chorus teacher Dara Hoyt, students sang music for the enjoyment of the crowd.
“Our McTeacher’s Night was a tremendous success.  The students, teachers and Poe School community had a “Big Mac” of a time.” said Christopher Zima, 4th/5th grade teacher at Poe School.
David Bear, Owner-Operator of the Morton Grove McDonald’s and the Bear Family Restaurants were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
