On Thursday, January 10th, Kimball teachers of district U-46, volunteered behind the counter at the Elgin McDonald’s located on Larkin Ave., where they served students and their families during this fundraising event. Teachers sold pies donated by Mr. David Bear, made Ice cream treats, served food and even sang for tips.
A special appearance by the Kimball Tiger, the school’s mascot made the evening extra special. Pictures were taken by many kids and families. Also a few members of the Kimball Middle School Band stopped in to play some music and they all did a wonderful job. The school band is Directed by Elisa Lieb-Bauman.
Kimball plans to use the money raised towards the school’s ROAR program. Which stands for Respect Organization Achieve Respond. A very special thank you goes out to Kimball teacher, Clarissa Marsh, who worked very hard to organize the entire event.
David Bear, Owner Operator of the Larkin McDonald’s, and the Bear Family is delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Bear said.
“We are proud to serve the families of the Kimball community and through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”
