On Thursday, December 13th, Washington Elementary School held a McTeacher’s Night at The Bear Family Restaurants McDonald’s located on Kishwaukee Street in Rockford. This was an effort to raise money for the new PTO and help fund their Spring activities. Teachers took over the restaurant serving up delicious meals to students and families to raise money. The McTeacher’s jobs included; drive-thru teachers, greeters, teachers cleaning the lobby, front counter teachers, teachers clearing tables. Jimena Medrano made over 30 ice cream cones, Jessica Intravaia sang as she walked around in a pie costume. A very special thank you goes out to the Principal, Greg Midgett who worked very hard to organize the entire event.
David Bear, Owner -Operator of the Rockford McDonald’s on Kishwaukee, and the Bear Family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Bear said.
“We are proud to serve the families of the Washington community and through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.
