The Bear Family McDonald’s located at 100 N. McLean Blvd., in South Elgin was to host The South Elgin Police Department in having their first “Cone with A Cop” event. This event took place on Tuesday, July 17th. The attending members of the South Elgin Police force had an event filled with many free cones and even more smiles being given out. One Hundred and Twenty ice cream cones were handed out during this event compliments of the Bear Family Restaurants and Owner/Operator David Bear.

The Cone with a Cop event is a unique way for the local community and Police officers to come together and engage in conversation, have a few laughs, and enjoy a delicious McDonald’s ice cream cone.

Deputy Chief Randy Endean, Sergeant Mike Doty, and Officers James Creighton,  Jeff Cooper, and Andrew Devleeschouwer all attended the event and enjoyed conversation with all the community members that came out to McDonald’s on a perfect summer night.
