Corron Elementary had a great night of fundraising at the Redington Rd McDonald’s in South Elgin. This is an event that is hosted by McDonald’s and the local school’s teachers and staff members volunteer to work a 1-hour shift during the school event and then a percentage of the night’s sales are donated to the school.

On Tuesday, February 27th the restaurant was packed with students and their families who were very excited to see teachers working at McDonald’s and serving freshly prepared meals to all of them. Some of the evening jobs included teachers handing out orders, cleaning tables, making ice cream treats, and selling delicious McDonald’s Apple Pies while dressed in a Pie costume. Principal Amanda Clark was dressed in the Pie outfit almost the entire night. The students could not wait to get a picture with her.

The teachers raised $974.81 for the Corron PTO. These funds will be used for Technology updates, extend bookrooms in classrooms, and fill teacher requests.

A special thank you goes to Stacy Rubly of the Corron PTO, who organized the event as well as everyone who worked and attended.
