Hillcrest Elementary School First McTeacher’s Night
A McTeacher’s Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers and staff work at McDonald’s and then giving a percentage of the night’s sales back to the local school.
On December 5th, Teachers and staff members from Hillcrest Elementary school worked at McDonald’s serving freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Hillcrest. There were 15 teachers and staff who worked from the school including Principal Teresa Winters and Assistant Principal Cyndi Aleman. The McTeacher’s jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling apple pies and even dressing up as an apple pie.
As a special treat for the families, Teacher Lisa Yagowl along with former Hillcrest students Anayeli Ocampo and Yurisy Martinez, played beautiful music on the violin and cellos. This added a great backdrop to a wonderful night.
A Special thank you goes to teachers Katie Hermetet, Rachel Kerwin, and Patrick Leonard who volunteered to dress up as an apple pie while families donated funds for their own delicious pie! Thank you to Principal Teresa Winters and Assistant Principal Cyndi Aleman who organized the event. Onahan Elementary School teachers and staff worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening. Hillcrest Elementary School will put the money raised into their general funds to be used towards school needs as they arise.
