Carol Stream Elementary School in District 93 held a McTeacher’s Night on Tuesday, September 19th, at the Bloomingdale, Stratford Drive, McDonald’s.

McTeacher’s Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers and staff work at McDonald’s and then giving a percentage of the night’s sales back to the local school.

On September 19th, the restaurant was taken over by teachers and staff from Carol Stream Elementary excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for the PTA.

There were 25 teachers and staff who worked from the school. The McTeacher’s jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, making ice cream, clearing tables, selling apple pies and even dressing up in an apple pie costume.

A Special thank you goes to teachers, Ms. Jerabek, Mrs. Nacimento, Ms. Curran, and Ms. Scharf who volunteered to dress up as an apple pie while families donated funds for their own delicious pie! The Pies are very generously donated by Owner/Operator David Bear.

Thank you to PTO representative Rosa Arnone-Getzloff who organized the event. Carol Stream Elementary School teachers and staff worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening.

Carol Stream Elementary School plans to use the money raised to go into the PTO fund for future events such as funfair, reading night, movie night and staff appreciation week.
