On Monday, June 5th at the McDonald’s in Mount Prospect, officers from the Mount Prospect Police Department and community members came together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink some delicious McDonald’s coffee and soft drinks.

The Stupar Family came out to meet the Mount Prospect Police at McDonald’s Coffee with a Cop event.

Coffee with a Cop provided a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Mount Prospect neighborhoods. The Officers also handed out information on their upcoming events: kickin It with the Cops Summer Soccer Program in July, Pool Party with the Police July 27 and of course their National Night Out event on August 1st at Lions Park. All ages visited with the officers.  The children especially enjoyed getting a police badge sticker and a couple even had the opportunity to sit in a police car and sound the siren and play with the lights.

Tara and Filip Cancarevic got to sit in the front seat of the police car and turn on the lights and the siren.

Special thank you goes to Officer Greg Sill, who coordinated the Coffee with a Cop meet and greet event.  And thank you to all the other officers that came and served coffee and soft drinks and mingled with the community.
