McTeacher’s Night Held for Westchester Primary and Intermediate Schools

Westchester School District 92 1/2 hold’s their annual McTeacher’s Night at the McDonald’s on 31st Street in Westchester, on Wednesday, May 10. A McTeacher’s Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald’s and then giving a percentage of the night’s sales to the local school. It was a stormy night but that didn’t keep anyway home. All the kids came to see their favorite teachers working.

On Wednesday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families. The students and families were excited to see their principal, Officer Friendly (Rob Verber) and many teachers behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.    So many mazing teachers worked from both schools. The McTeacher’s jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, making Ice Cream treats, working drive-thru and dressing in a pie costume where pies were sold for donations. All duties were executed with great enthusiasm and huge smiles on everyone’s faces.

Officer Verber wore the Pie Costume almost the entire night.  A wonderful time was had by all who attended this event.

To make the evening even more memorable, The Hamburglar stopped by to take pictures with many of the kids and families.

A special thank you goes to Principal, DelFiacco who worked the entire night, and Tammy Flynn the Chair of restaurant fundraising for the WPTC, who organized the entire event as well as all the staff who worked so graciously to help raise money for Westchester Primary and Intermediate School. The school plans to put the money earned into the general fund and use it for year-end events including: Field Days, and the 2nd, 5th and 8th-grade celebrations and the 8th-grade dinner.
