McTeacher’s Night Held For Century Oaks of District U-46

Century Oaks Elementary School of District U-46 hold’s their Second McTeacher’s Night this year at the McDonald’s on N McLean Blvd in Elgin, on Tuesday, May 9. A McTeacher’s Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald’s and then giving a percentage of the night’s sales to the local school.

On Tuesday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families. The students and families were excited to see their principal and teachers behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Many Amazing teachers worked from the school. The McTeacher’s jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, Ice Cream, working drive-thru and dressing in a pie costume where pies are sold for donations. All duties which were executed with great enthusiasm and huge smiles on everyone’s faces.

Mr. Horn and Mr. Tabares each took a turn wearing the pie costume during the event. They took advantage of the nice weather and wore the costume outside where they were dancing around and guiding families inside to purchase their food. A great time was had by all who attended this event.

To make the evening even more memorable, Ronald McDonald stopped by to take pictures and give high fives to all the happy people.

A special thank you goes to Principal, Dr. Erickson, and Secretary Gia Mallinas, who organized the entire event as well as all the staff who worked so graciously to help raise money for Century Oaks Elementary School who plans to put the money earned into the general funds and use it for needs of the students and staff.
