In the fall of 2022, we hosted our first Fries with a Firefighter event and we look forward to many more in the future. The event includes tours of the fire truck and their equipment and gives the firefighters a chance to talk with the community about safety recommendations, any questions they may have, or how to join their team!

Through McTeacher Nights in our restaurants we have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars. These nights provide an opportunity for the teachers and community to come together to raise money for the school, while also making great memories under the golden arches.

We offer 10% discounts to schools to provide an exciting McDonald’s lunch for the kids. Currently seven schools participate in this program, with more being added regularly. We also regularly donate food items for special events throughout the school year.
Education is a cornerstone in every community and everyone should have the opportunity to achieve their potential. We recognized that there was a need in our communities for all kids to have the correct fundamental supplies to reach their potential. Annually we give away thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies through events at our restaurants, in which we also invite our local police departments to be a part of.
Three South Elgin Elementary Schools held a reading challenge for 3rd-5th graders in April-May 2021, and live streamed the winners from our McClean Blvd. restaurant. We provided goody bags for the winners and free food.
BFR is a proud supporter for the Superintendent’s Scholarship program that supports outstanding students who are the first in their immediate family to attend college. Since it’s establishment in 2012, the School has awarded 260 graduates with $1,000 scholarships.
