Elgin Police Officers Serving Up Delicious McDonald’s Ice Cream Cones

The Elgin Police Department had their first “Cone with A Cop” event on Tuesday, July 24th. Several Members of the Elgin Police Force showed up at two Elgin McDonald’s locations, 1480 Larkin Avenue and 1165 N. McLean Boulevard, to serve the community complimentary Ice Cream Cones.

The Cone with a Cop event is a unique way for the local community and Police officers to come together and engage in conversation, have a few laughs, and enjoy a delicious McDonald’s ice cream cone.

Making the perfect McDonald’s Ice Cream Cone is not as easy as one might think, there is a technique to it. The community members had a great time watching the Officers make the cones and then serve them to the guests.

Over Two Hundred Cones were served during these two events, compliments of the Bear Family Restaurants and Owner/Operator David Bear.

Mark your calendars for National Night Out on August 7th from 5:30-8:30 PM throughout the neighborhoods and at Festival Park, don’t miss the movie Dolphin Tale starting at dusk. Hamburglar and Grimace will both make a special appearance during the evening in the neighborhood and at Festival Park.
