Mark Twain Elementary School held their second annual McTeacher’s Night Fundraiser at the Wheeling McDonald’s on Lake Cook Road. A McTeacher’s Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald’s and then giving a percentage of the night’s sales back to the local school. What an amazing night for Mark Twain School!
On Wednesday, March 7th, the restaurant was taken over by thirteen teachers and staff members excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families. Teachers also handed out orders, cleaned tables, made ice cream treats, served drinks, and even dressed up in an apple pie costume. School Social Worker Naomi Rubin dressed in the Pie outfit and what a blast she had mingling with all the families and taking pictures. Principal Rita Janus was also in attendance and enjoyed the evening.
The Twain Elementary teachers worked hard selling delicious apple pies all night and had a blast. The funds earned from the Pie sales will go directly to support PTO at Twain Elementary.
A special thank you goes to Twain PTO member Claudia Fonseca and Teacher Amanda Zito who organized the event as well as everyone who worked and attended.
